HOW RETAILERS SELECT SITES AND ASSESS AFFORDABLE RENT
Friday, 26 September

This is a practical, detailed and comprehensive course on how decisions are made on retail property by retailers. The information they collect, the analysis they do and the way they reach their decisions. Retailers are all the time becoming more sophisticated in the approaches they use to assess retail potential and the implications for the rent they will pay and the lease terms they will accept. This is a complete briefing on what the best of them are doing – in short, the current state of the art and the developing trends. Essential because these practices materially affect the deals retailers do.

This course will cover:
• The site selection process
• Interpreting UK retail rents and valuations in rents
• Getting to the bottom line
• Challenges faced by retailers when assessing sites

The course will also include two hands-on sessions in which theory is put into practice.

This course is invaluable to all those involved in asset management, particularly leasing and rent reviews, as well as to those engaged in financial assessment and commercial viability studies.
